Father and Son. Notice the Boo Boo on RJs forehead. Blame that one on sis. Got infected and he had his first real vet visit. Screamed like a banshee but recovered like a champ. Even licked the clippers while they were running after he got shaved.
Roscoe is chillin. The pup is full of it. Did some drive and grip drills last night and I really opened up a can of worms. My quality of life just went down a few notches. Now I have to constantly keep a trader rag with me for when he grabs my shoes, pants, legs etc.
Calmness - a bit in the 2nd picture, more in the last picture. Calmness, to me, is a GOOD thing in a GSD. It's part of a stable character. A dog that can control himself and think about what he's doing (as an adult later). A dog that can size things up, so to speak.
Calmness in a GSD doesn't mean that he isn't driven, completely driven, even over the top in drive. To me it means he's balanced - a thinking dog, intelligent as heck, with a deliberateness about him, if you will. Of course as a puppy, it's something you won't see often, but unmistakeable when it is there.
So I meant it as a compliment, what is in my mind a very good compliment.
Sandy, excellent description! I like what you said there.
And I agree about the calm being a good thing...however, with puppy underfoot myself, I guess I just might be seeing things through different "lenses" at this time, as my lenses are (literally--long story) all broken up, and my "can of worms" is on my head and my "quality of life" is "right up there" with Howard's...Heh...puppies. GSD puppies. Tell me again why we do this????
