My Name is Jason Leonard, I am an attorney her in Phoenix, AZ. I am 38, married with two girls, third GSD. My new girl is Juliet and she is 17 weeks old. Despite all of the above I proved to be pretty dumb (and lucky) when it came to picking out my girl.

I did everything wrong. I found her in a classified ad, I went to a house only the Mom was on premises. Mom was all Black. She had a great temperament ( played with my 3 and 7 year olds) Strong drive, would fetch all day, swam, "supposedly trained" in life saving, supposed good hips, Sire was a supposed "champion" from Czech Republic. All this for like $500. What could go wrong?
Well after reading the web and this site, EVERYTHING!!! For me fortunately it was OK. Turns out the lady I bought the dog from was telling the truth and is a conscientious GSD owner and breeder. Dad was Igor Z Lintichu, brother of Ibn Z Lintichu son of Flash Axax Hoff and Mendi Z lintichu.

Mom does not have the established breeding background and is from an American line, but her hips checked out at one year and her temperament is great.

Below is my girl at 17 weeks (44lbs), I think she has that sexy female GSD look about her. She appears to be black and reddish like her father.

What are your plans with her? Strictly pet? What kind of "life saving" was the dam trained for?

AND it is GREAT that you are switching to raw and you are definitely in the right place.

I would like to do some training with her and I am bringing her up that way. She already has sit, down, go to bed. stays when sat or down until break. On leash she heels and sit when I stop. I cant find any clubs or resources here in phoenix, any help would be appreciated. I am learning the training here. MY last GSD could sit, play dead, roll over etc. That is not what I am looking for in this dog. Would like some work training and protection but still want a family dog. I have order Ed's obedience DVD. I am open to all advice and suggestions.

Damn would sit at pools edge and watch for kids in distress would jump in and pull to edge "Newfie" style.

Welcome to the board. Your new girl is gorgeous. The z Lintichu name caught my eye. We are good friends with her sire's breeder, Ivan Kocajda, of z Lintichu Kennels in Slovakia. When we were breeding, we helped him import quite a few dogs into the states and his lines are wonderful. Igor's brother, Indor, was the Slovakian Sieger twice and we imported a couple of his pups, here locally. They are fantastic dogs. welcome to the board jason. your girl definitely looks feminine, and she has those beautiful "radar" GSD ears! she will grow into them eventually!
