I have a female GSD puppy (19weeks old today)who I bought for protection training. I have been training her myself for now till I take her to a trainer. I have been teaching her sit, come, and just started the down. I will try to show a video later. My question is that I know she knows what sit means and come and while I am training her she listens on leash and off leash whith a treat or toy or just praise. She does great I think. But after Im done training and I let her do whatever and then tell her to sit or come she sometimes doesnt listen. Should I correct her for that or not, at this age? Once she knows that I am training her it doesnt matter who or what runs in front of her she wont move untill I say come. And I could be a good 15yards away from her. Thanks

If you cannot correct it, don't give the command....she is young also. So in time she will put two and two together and perform the commands you wish, but I would not push her right now.
My pups are 20 weeks and I do some obedience work with them but not too much. I work on building drive and focus more than anything. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

Robert, sounds like you are doing a good job with her. I would not do any kind of corrections on a puppy though. As far as training anyway. If it's pack behavior corrections, yes. Such as nipping you, getting on furniture, etc. Any kind of training corrections really should not start until you are 100% SURE! your dog knows the commands and is at least 6-7 mos old. IMO.
