Katti Burgett Webboard User Reg: 05-07-2007 Posts: 11 Loc: Offline	Anyone have some good advice on how to house train a dog who isn't in the house much at all? My mom wont let her come in, because she is not potty trained, but I can not potty train her without her being inside enough to make an accident and be corrected ya know? Is there a way I can make it obvious to her that we potty outside, not in the house, with out her actually being in the house much?

However, I would not set the dog up to have an accident. The key is to NOT let the dog have an accident. Approach it like you would a new puppy. Crate train the dog, take the dog from the crate to the back yard, tell them to potty, when they potty you can bring them into the house and play. Make sure you take the dog outside enough to not make a mistake inside the house. In a few weeks the dog will easily understand that going outside is correct and not even consider going inside.
