Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me find a good breeder who has piebald huskies. I don't have the money-time-space for one right now, but after college I am dreaming of getting a female to breed to my husky. I would like her to be registered. I am just trying to find breeders now so I can get to know alot of breeders and by the time I am ready to purchase a dog, I will have a good knowledge of breeders, cost, etc. Plus, I just can't find any breeders anywhere!!
Please help, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.




Here are some pics I found so people who have never heard of piebald huskies can see how neat they are! These are also examples of dogs that show traits I would like to have in my dog when I get one. I love the second pic, I really like how it has a spot over the eye, but they aren't as patch like as the first dog's. I also like the last 2 because they have 1 or 2 spots down by the hips. Spots on the face and hips are what's important to me, just cuz I like the way it looks really. And a spot or 2 on the torsoe (is it called tortoe on dogs?) is nice too. But I like the first dog's tanish red color as much as I like the black. And like all husky lover/breeders, I am prepared to kill for blue eyes! J/K, or am I..?

Are the dogs titled with some type of working title that would make breeding them worth it?
Or are you just talking about breeding pets?

What have you done in your research to know what makes a HUSKY a true HUSKY?
Beside the spots, what else is important to you in this breed.
A person that wants to breed should know a lot about the breed and do it's homework.What are you trying to improve in this breed?
If you do not have the time ,money and space now I doubt you will right after college.Why not after college do some research and attend lots of competition that these breed take part in , visit other breeders that have done everything in their power to improve the breed.Go to work shops at vet clinics and find out what are the health problems in the breed TODAY.What has changed, what needs attention , what kind of breeders are needed out there to improve the breed,ect...
I think you are way ahead of yourself, you mean well but do your homework...

I agree with what Angelique said.

In my case, I would love to breed GSD's one day, but since right now I don't have the space or time and I'm still researching tons about the breed and still learning the personalities, problems, etc. I probably won't start breeding for about 5-10 years at least and trying to find the right dog to breed with your current dog-very hard to find the right match with the characteristics and bloodlines(IMO). Sure, I'll be training and competing(hopefully) before then with SchH, PPD, what-have-you, but until then I'll just continue to be optimistic and keep learning more. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind about the breed of dog I want to breed(I really want about 3 more dogs of different breeds, fiance doesn't like the idea as much as me*) and decide to stick with training and competing.

*This is another area to consider. Once out of college and on your own, have your own house w/yard(big yard for huskies) you'll probably have a significant other, if you don't already, and you'll want to make sure that they have the same goals in mind about your dogs and breeding and if they even want that responsibility.

I don't want to shoot down your goals and ideas, these are just things you really want to do/consider before jumping in over your head. I'm sure there are others on this forum with more experience that could/would tell you the same thing. JMHO

That's exactly what I'm doing right now. I don't think I'm quite as far gone into dogs as a lot of people on this forum. Not that that's a bad thing, I just mean, I don't go to shows or anything like that. I train my dogs, and have been thinking about becoming a dog trainer part time. But, I just want to breed huskies as pets someday, I have a husky right now, and a significant other, and we have already decided together that this is something we want to do. My husky is a black and white bi-eyed. Just so classic looking! And I think the piebalds are really neat. I was wanting to get to know some breeders because I think that is the best way to really get to know the breed, along with research.
Is piebald a color variation that any husky can have? Or is it more genetic?

Um, Katti, there's way way more to breeding dogs than color variation. I'm really surprised you are wanting to breed dogs of seemingly unknown quality to get a particular color combination. I sincerely hope that I am misunderstanding your post. In my opinion a really neat color combo is not a good reason to breed a dog.
