I have 8 dogs that have all been vaccinated for lyme and gotten frontline every 30 days from March to December. 1/2 of them have had lyme desease. I do not think the vaccine works nor does the frontline. I have had much better luck with K-9 advantix. Yes the lyme is curable. Not all of my dogs showed the symtems. It was discovered during annual heart worm test. I then had other blood work done to determine anti body titres. Some dogs will fight lyme off without the use of doxicyclin. There are other tick born diseases that are much worse than lyme. Anti-plasma is one that can be fatal. It attacks the red cells and then turns the bodies immune system against itself, destroying its own red cells. If it is not caught in time your poor dog could have a stroke, liver or kidney failure. Bottom line is keep those ticks off your dog. Find a product that works for you. Like is said my money goes to k 9 advantix, it seems to work the best for the ticks in my area.
Ditto the permenone and knee boots. Permenone even last through multiple machine washings. Definately want to keep it off your skin. I don't like it that it is so harsh and would rather use something all natural as well, but have never seen anything that worked like this stuff either. And it will make ticks literally jump off you.
