Our local paper did an article on the woman who works at Idaho Humane society that oversees much of the operation and does a weekly TV show "Pets on Parade" your state probably has something similar. View Article Here I was really impressed how she took the opportunity to say good things about the pit bull breed especially since there was recent media activity on a man who was bitten by two roaming pit-bulls that had just killed a cat. (After 2 weeks the owner was finally caught and charged). Also I'm surprised how low the kill rate at this shelter is!

I liked the article as well. I'm glad she made it a point to share how great the PB breed is. I have heard very often that they excel in obedience classes etc.
I emailed the lady (Dee) interviewed to thank her for making the opportunity to say something good about Pit Bulls. In her response she said that in her 17 years at the humane society she has placed thousands of Pit Bulls that went on to be great family dogs and that the IHS will do anything it can to fight breed specific legislation. Great to hear since it sounds like not all humane societies feel that way!!
