Just wanted to cry on someones shoulder about tomorrow. I have decided to place my little male yorkie I have had for 4 yrs in another home due to fighting........It is one of the saddest things I have ever had to do.
I have tried almost every training method there is, and this is a genetic thing. His grandfather and father were both like this. I found this out, after I had got him, when I joined the breed club for him.
They say that the other males, had to be kept separated too. Like I said, I have tried various methods for him and the female yorkie he grew up with, to get along, but after 3 years of fighting I cant do it. I don't think it's fair to my female to get attacked, for no reason whatsoever.
So I have decided to place him in a single female retired lady home. No small children lost her sheltie of 13yrs a few months ago, and has him/her buried in the back yard with a marker.
I think she will take good care of Tucker and he will be only pet and her companion, as there is no one else in the home.
Now, yes, I did try to make sure he went to the perfect next place, I can feel good about that, but I am bawling my eyes out......
Agreed I have worked with him for about 3 years now, to no avail, it is a temperment issue and the other dog deserves better, that is why the decision is finally being made....Messed up as it is for me, the dog, will probably do a lot better than I will
Yes, the breeder is aware, she was sold the father and found out about hers also, the ladies in the group say the grandfather was same......3rd generation
