Last night, I took Fred the pup to the Training Club, His Trainer was on Holiday so it was just walking around and Playing with the Obly Ball and a few Sit ,Down exersises for this time, plus letting him see the other people and dogs.
It was Raining, not so many people and dogs turned up. Fred had done his work and we were sitting under a Canopy outside the club house watching a couple of Older Dogs on the Field working
There was only one other Pup there and he was the same age as Fred, Now one of these two pups wanted to play more with the other one giving small yaps he did look around a bit but not much more intent in wanting to play,
The other Pup was Looking at the Dogs working on the Field ,he never missed anything that was going on, a bird flew acroos the field and his eyes followed thebird for a second then went back to the dogs on the field.
Which Pup would you pick just on what i have wrote if you were given the chance, Both are 7.5 months old, You people knowing about GSDs is there something in these points that you would go for or it it just different characters. It would be interesting on your expert verdicts, as i own one of them
I would say the dog that has more focus. But i would be jumping the gun if i said that. I have never selected a dog before so im sure someone else can give you some better advice then me. Its alright if your dog plays around some. But when you tell him to do something then he better do it. The other dog does sound good because he already has good focus, but for all we know he could have been looking at the other dogs and thinking "man i just want to run out there and play under there feet to mess them all up" (ok maybe not but it just shows we never know whats going on in there head )
