Could someone elaborate on or point me to a thread where you discuss socializing an older dog?
One of mine is really friendly, but the other is nervous around people. So far we've only talked to neighbors from a couple of feet away (which is ok for the time being). You can see Jake get a little antsy because he doesn't know the person. How do you go about socializing a slightly older pup/younger dog (age 2-ish)? I'd hate to ask a friend, heaven forbid a stranger, to stand there and feed him hotdogs without knowing if he'd bite out of fear... granted I really don't think he would- but do I want to take that chance? I'm not planning on asking everyone to touch him-- but I was reading about the CGC program and its definitely a requirement.
