I'd be careful of the turkey leg bones as they are similar to rabbit bones in that they shatter pretty sharp. If you are feeding a lot of bone-in bird you are better off to feed whole - viscera, feathers and the works. The dogs ingest enough other stuff to "pad" the bone shards thru the digestive tract. Can be messy though.
Tiggy?? Is that you? I wish everyone would have left their handles AND put up their real names. . .give an adjustment period so I don't think I'm talking to a bunch of strangers.
I am feeding entire turkeys to my dogs. They have shown no ill effects from the legs. There's always a possibility that a dog is going to choke on a bone but it hasn't happened yet. I cut up whole turkeys as they go on sale. The dogs devour anything raw in their path. Maybe after my wife gets that heavy duty commercial food proccesor for Christmas that I've been wanting, I'll grind up the bones.
Oh Yea, my wife is also getting a commercial grade meat cleaver...I'm such an A-hole

food processors (KitchenAid). I'm serving up Turkey legs this week so I think I'll try to grind up the bones with it....sure hope it works!!! Bree
