Just to follow along this line, there are cities around here that bring in extra officers on New Years and have invested in some kind of high tech system to trace where shots originate because the falling bullets have injured and if I remember right even killed a child in one case.
I think there was a CSI episode about someone killed by a falling bullet (oh boy, CSI lover here).
Maybe I'm just repeating myself now, I absolutely think that the officer should be investigated just as anyone else would be investigated for the incident. The public has a right to question the actions of officers just as we questions the actions of everyone else; they're human, they can make bad decisions just like the rest of us.
Whether he is guilty or not is not something I can know from reading news articles - although that second one presented some pretty suspicious information. If he's not guilty, then he's not guilty...and if he is guilty, let's just hope he's brought to justice.
Although we're here because of a common interest, we're still a pretty diverse group of people, and we're definitely not always going to agree. But I think we can all agree that he's innocent until proven guilty...and if he is guilty, let's hope he faces proper repercussions.
Just to be fair, not picking on anyone who posted about jogging with a gun, but there's nothing wrong with jogging with a gun if you're licensed to carry it. Hopefully someone on the jury doesn't have preconceived ideas about that.
Once I'm sufficiently trained with a gun, know all the rules and am proven safe in handling one, I will most definitely carry a gun on me when walking (I don't jog) and when I go anywhere. It's my right.
