In Russia, there has been a cat circus since 1971. Supposedly it was born when a circus clown noticed that a stray cat had "trained" passers by to pay attention to it and give it food. (Many Russian people are fond of cats, and feeding and rescuing strays is a popular sport.)
Yesterday "Killer" got out of his backyard and attacked a dog walking on leash with its owner.
The dog was in bad shape, as far as I could tell. I caught killer and held her until the police and animal control came. BTW, the dogs owner? Police SGT. & Wife.
Sad news indeed.
I didn't follow the whole thread, so help me out.
Is there something you didn't try, or is there perhaps a method as an afterthought about which you could pass along? I guess what I'm trying to say is, did you learn anything about dealing with blind, deaf and dumb owners you could help us with.
Yes. I learned that Drugs and/or alcohol use will delay emoional development. The owners are boys inhabiting men's bodies, and they are having trouble understanding why everyone is picking on them.
In a way they are deaf, dumb and blind. They are not able to see the world as adults, and there will be further consequences after the loss of their dog.
On the whole, though a rather nice day in the neighborhood. People came out of their houses, helped the lady, called the police, gave out names and numbers, etc. One man showed up with a baseball bat.
It is just too bad; I think this could have been a good dog if she had better owners.
I am sorry about all of this. It was an accident waiting to happen, but you did your best to fix a situation that had nothing to do with you. Be proud that you didn’t sit by and say later, “Someone should have done something.” You even joined a dog training website when you don’t own a dog!
And isn’t it nice when everyone gets together to help a stranger. It is sad that it usually takes something like this, but you do know that they will be there for you if anything ever happens again.
Good luck, and please stick around! Maybe all of these new puppies everyone keeps getting will rub off on you. You are the type that a puppy deserves to get!
