30 month old GSD on raw for around six months now. Had first blood work done and all was good but cholesterol was high at 348. Vet said not to worry but how can we get it down? His biggest part of diet is leg quarters and chicken backs.

My year old raw-fed male had blood work done a few months ago and his cholesterol came back high at 355. My doc then ran a T4 thyroid blood test (usually called for when cholesterol is high) which came back completely normal. My doc said not to worry about it.
I, of course, worried so I exchanged PMs with Connie who did some research and found that diet does not negatively impact cholesterol levels in canines like it does in humans. Or, maybe better put, canines can eat a higher cholesterol diet without compromising their health. I hope I said that right.
In any case, after reading the links Connie provided I stopped worrying about it and will see how the cholesterol is when I do blood again in a year. I hoped this helped, Mitch.
