My mom and dad have a severely overwight BC mix, they took him to the vet today since the dog was ill.....vet agreed with me that he should go onto raw diet.....WA HOO!!!!!!
So as soon as they get here, we are going shopping (in my freezer and the grocery store) and I am going out tonight to package and process two weeks worth of raw for them to start with.
They are not that comfortable with the whole "bone" thing, so I am will take my handy dandy grinder and grind the chicken for them.
This dog is going to be sooooooo HAPPY!!! But the main thing is that my vet agreed!!!! And he started out being a bit skeptical...due to people not feeding raw correctly.

It is great....I will monitor and help them through the process.
I will talk to my vet and ask him about the list. I am sure he will be okay with it.
He does not recommend it due to the improper way people feed raw but he is okay with my dogs and it is just a huge step for him to say okay to my parents dog as well.

Pretty sure you deserve some congrats here Carol. The vet has probalby been convinced raw can be done well because of YOUR example.

First meal....ground chicken, bone in with skin removed and about an 1/8th of a cup of my veggie glop.
Goose loved it and this is from a dog that eats when he feels like it.
He ate the whole meal in about 2 minutes.
Left mom and dad with some instructions and also some THK, 7 days worth of ground chicken and some ground turkey.
Made up about two weeks worth of veggie glop and put it in the freezer.
Took before pics which I will post when I go and get my camera, I left it there, dangit!!! And I will keep you all posted on progress.
