Sandy, I really do think it has more to do with bone structure than anything. I see Am bred dogs who are waaaay bigger than Caleb and they only weigh 100lbs...because they are fat bodies with skinny deer heads perched on top of toothpicks. Caleb has a giant head, heavy shoulders and legs, and then gets real lean toward the back. I think this is why he is soooo agile. My only point was that weight is relative. I'll be curious to see how Lear matures...bet he won't be done filling out for at least another year or so. Hope he breaks 100!

I'll have to upload a newer pic of Lear. The one in my sig line is of him at 10 mos. He looked pretty hefty then. I don't see a huge difference between then and now, but the differences are there. The top of his muzzle for one thing is developing that very slight (what's the word?) "bump" (?) just above the nose. Love it.
I do see your point though - weight is relative. Mitch posted his dog is 94#, so it seems the 90-100# range is not so out of the norm.
