yeh, dont fix what aint broke..
and feeding raw is the best thing anydog owner can do for their dog.
a
as for the ear thing i have not cleaned my dogs ears at all yet, and they are fine, no redness or gunk or smells or anything.
after they get out for their runs and have some sand all over the place i just wipe the "flappy" part i do not go past the entrance of the ear..and give it a few days of staying away from the sand and their ears are clean. they sort themselves out!
My suggestion is to get another dog – they take care of each other’s ears!
Seriously, I just had my dogs in for their yearly ‘wellness’ visit. Both of them were pronounced ‘excellent’ in regard to ears, eyes, teeth, skin, coat, and… poop.
Each of my dogs has one ear up and one ear down. Even the floppy ears were spotless and I don’t do a thing. As opposed to teeth brushing/cleaning, I don’t think ear cleaning is preventive maintenance – I think it can eventually cause more harm than good. JMO.
hah...i c..so thats how their ears stay clean...
i always wondered howcome their ears were clean a few days later...
i let them play 2gether during the day and they will fall asleep 2gether...but they are seperated at night and when we out when there is no1 to check on them!

Those who would give up essential freedoms for the temporary feeling of safety deserve neither!!
What does everybody do to keep their dogs ears clean? How often do you clean them?
I clean the ears with a wash cloth after the bath then use a 'wick' of rolled cotton. I buy a large roll of Johnson & Johnson cotton, pull it apart and make a wick with my hands. I moisten it with an ear cleaning solution from my vet and gently twist the wick down into the ear. I pull it out slowly and this grabs any gunk that's down in there.
