Dang!!! That is far!!! We need a south florida meet??
Anyway, I do know Tony Guzman but he is very busy and is more into selling dogs than training now a days. As far as decoy work, maybe 8 months or so, I was also on the other side of the leash before that and I still am! LOL
My GSD is 2 1/2, 96 pounds, and I have not really worked him off leash in protection mode, I will in the future but still working on getting his bite to be perfect! :O) Again, I'm learning new stuff everyday!
my trainer canceled our appointment this Tuesday (flu), rescheduled for the following wednesday.
I seriously mean to ask him how i can best start working on the other end of the leash.
how often do you like to (bite) train your dog ? This guy was coming over once a week for the first 3-4 months, but lately he's been canceling every other week. Frigin' bast*rd....i SO look forward to that one day of the week! Especially now that her confidence has built up, and we're working on the "hold" part of the bite.
I used to work with Tony Scitarelli when I lived in Miami. He has a field in Aventura near the mall and usually trains with a small group every Saturday morning. I'll PM you his number. I don't recall who all the decoys where, but I know Jim Houck did some work with him at the time. Its a good group
And say away from Rick Lharrison and everyone from http://www.k9enforcement.com. They recently changed their web page to removed all their staff's last names. Thats because if you googled them or looked them up in Dade County public records, you'd find numerous animal neglect and abuse charges against several of them. I experienced this first hand. He's in Ed's hall of shame. He's also been caught advertising his scam operation under Tony Guzman's name, so be careful.
