We lost our family dog today. She was rescued many years ago. We believe she was around 12 years old in June of 2007. When we rescued her she was around 1.5 years old. She was skin and bones and had a litter of pups. It was the middle of winter and some kid brought her to the door and said his dad wouldn't let him keep her and her knew we had dogs so he broughg her to us. He was going to have to leave her out in teh cold had he not brought her to us. Luna lived a full life, and was loved beyond imagine. We will miss her terribly, but mostly mom will miss her. It was really her dog. I am just numb today but I know Luna is at peace now and isn't in any pain.
My thoughts are with you and yours. Words don't work in this situation, so go hug the dogs you have, and you'll maybe get a glint of Luna waiting at the Bridge for you.
Karmen,
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog today. I remember when you posted back in November about Dante's passing on to the Rainbow Bridge. As I recall it was from hemangiosarcoma and my heart was still so heavy at that time because our dog Buster had just passed on 3 weeks earlier from that terrible cancer.

Karmen, my heart goes out to you as well. I lost a similar canine sibling this spring (after 17 years!!) and it's just unbearable... but as time goes on, you'll look back with less and less saddness and more and more warm appreciation for all the love and great memories she gave you. Be strong...
