Anyone ever pay attention to Calories on a Raw Diet? I've always maintained Andy's weight with 2100 to 2200 calories so unless my math is off, (very possible) It'll be over 3lbs a day to maintain him at 101 to 104 Lbs. Does that sound like the right range? Thanks.
It seems to jive with the 2%-3% of the dog's body weight in pounds of food reccomendations. I would say it is a good place to start.
Just be ready to adjust. I made the mistake of feeding way too little in the begining. My 43 lbs dog needs about 2 lbs (closer to 5% of his bodyweight) a day to maintain weight, and I started off feeding less than 1 lbs a day.
Of course 3 lbs with 1/4 of that being veggies, would be different than 3 lbs of meat/organ only.
Make sure you dog a rib check on Andy every week in the begining and adjust accordingly.
