Have just started showing in Novice Obedience with my 19 month old GSD. I ordered the SS Fur Saver Collar, and am now wondering if I can use it in competition. AKC regulations say nothing hanging from the collar, the Fur Saver has that little emblem (red HS) does anyone know if I need to remove the emblem...again I am a real novice, but my boy earned his first leg in CD and have a show next week for next leg...(he must be good, since I know nothing and probably cost him some points. HA)
Thanks I look forward to learning alot from this site and all of the experienced people on this board.
There is no problem using a fur saver in AKC obedience but if it has something hanging from the collar I would remove it. If it is just imprinted in the metal than that is no big deal. A judge might or might not notice something hanging from the collar but the last thing you need when you enter the ring ready to work is to have a judge tell you to get another collar or remove whatever is hanging from the collar. That would throw many people for a loop and it is hard to get back into the game mindset after that. Good luck! My youngest boy just finished his CD this past weekend and got High Scoring Herding Dog to boot :-)
