However, how many folks have heard about the Pittsburgh Steeler's quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger ? Not too long ago, he donated money to replace the K9 in his hometown of Findlay, Ohio. As you may recall, the dog was shot by the handler's neighbor. Recently, he donated $10,000 towards a new bomb dog for the Cleveland PD. Since we are on this topic, I wanted to add about when Jake Plummer donated $10,000 to the CO Humane Society as well. He is actually a really nice guy as well. "...He spent most of Friday morning explaining to his agents and Tampa Bay officials why he was retiring. Early that same afternoon, Plummer and his girlfriend Kolette walked into the Colorado Humane Society and handed over a personalized $10,000 check. Usually, he just goes there to take the shelter dogs out for runs and walks, and writes the big checks through his foundation that benefits families and Alzheimer's patients."
