I'm finally ordering the Basic Obedience and Dominant Dog dvd's! Now that our Cdn $$ is at or close to par to the US $$ I can afford it! I am really looking forward to these DVD's and learning some really good training methods. I was going to put Bayley back in obedience classes for some more training but classes in my town are always way too big with way too many dogs that Bayley never seems to learn anything. At home she learns superfast and I'm looking forward to seeing how she does with these.
My money order went into the mail today!! Kinda nice, came to 94.00, big difference from a few months ago!! Hey Sarah, which ones do you have? I've been taking a peek at the others and depending on how we do with the 1st two, I may try the obedience heeling.
Just received my dvd's today and of course had to watch them. I really wish I had discovered Ed's site before but better late than never. Lots of excellent info, of course will need to rewatch a few times. I actually feel that by using my own common sense I actually did a few things right with Bayley, and after watching, I think I did not too bad. Like Ed said, most people have problems with being consistent and I agree I have that problem, so gotta work on that. The levels of correction was very helpful too. The dogs on the video are gorgeous, love the pups!
I watched How to raise a working pup with my kids, 7 & 4, we loved it. They are asking for more of the dog training videos. If they watch them as many times as they do the rest of their tapes they could be very skilled dog handlers when they are all grown up.
I've watched the videos and have started to apply the info, especially to our walks and I've noticed that it seems to have changed the way Bayley listens even in the house when we're not training. Too cool, she was the type to argue if she had something she didn't want to drop, now I say NO and she lets go, then she gets YES!! good girl!! Heheh, I'm thrilled. Next work on the recall, she's pretty good but sometimes she doesn't come right to me but circles around. I think the backing up move will work well for that. Thanks again Ed!!!
