Seriously though, I started feeding outside and always have.
Veggies aren't top priority for me either. I feed some in the form of THK when I feel like mixing it. The only other veggies are from my leftovers, grass on tripe, and grass that sticks to the food being eaten in the yard.
Sometimes he grazes. Preferably tall bermuda grass. Doesn't really care for zoysia of other grasses common around me.
I've noticed that whatever veggies are fed are usually seen intact in the aftermath. Makes me wonder how much is gained from veggies, but I'll still throw them in for good measure when available. I don't think they hurt.
Dear Sheila: I wanted to ask you this question in regards to your pup taking the food away from its plate or to its bed or wanting to take it outside to bury it. maybe you could cut the food ration down and when your dog gets hungrier, would eat the food in the bowl? Maybe your pup isn't that hungry. Just a guess. Maybe it is just because this is something new, and when your pup gets used to it, he'll just munch and go.
Glad to hear you are giving it another try, my dog has benefited greatly from it. Don't give up!
May God bless you.

Thanks for the encouragement Sharon. I think the main problem is he thought of it as a recreational bone vs. his meal. Today is the 4th day I have fed raw and he seems to have it under control . He is staying in the area of his bowl and chomping much more efficiently, I am hearing a lot of bone crunching and not gulping which caused a little vomiting this morning of intact bone pieces (obviously no chewing)

Seeing the videos of the U.C. Gray Wolf Project ended the question for me once and for all about whether wild canids choose to eat some produce even when there's no shortage of prey
Damn you Connie now I am all nervous about his veggie refusal. I found the old notebook I was keeping the last time I attempted raw over 6 years ago. I really was tortured by his non cooperative eating habits. mainly sifting through his dish and only eating what had not been touched by grain or vegetable. From past experience I know he likes tripe. Tell me, "if that's the case he'll be fine then."

SHeila,
My ideas on the matter are as follows.
HA! When I first glanced at your post, I read, "My ideas are the only that matter."
Crack me up Michael!! You know Jennifer, she's all that!! And I must admit she knows her way round a raw food bowl
