OK, I have a pork stomach I got for almost nothing and has been in the deep freeze for almost three months. Am trying to clear out some of my older stuff as it is packed now. 20 cubic feet. OK or just discard?

I also have fears about neuro tissue, especially the brain, but I realize the spinal cord is also neuro tissue.
I will admit that I don't feed neural tissue. I know how ignorant that sounds, and I know that my dogs would eat brains and eyeballs and so on if they were available, but I can't get past my Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease concerns. So I guess we all do what we are comfortable doing.
I also realize that deleting the brain, etc., from the diet means that I delete a big source of Omega 3s, but I give them back in fish oil.
Just me...... I'm not saying at all that my feelings about the matter are correct, because there's still controversy aout exactly how Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is transmitted and whether dogs do get it. Accrding to the Mayo Clinic, "Dogs don't appear to get this type of disease." Evidently it's goats, sheep, deer and other ruminants, and cats ....
The Mayo Clinic is a pretty authoritative source, I think.
Connie-- sorry about not posting that link for the liver info.
Mitch pork stomach is fine to feed. If this is from wild pigs or ones you slaughter yourself then your freezing time is more then sufficient. If you purchased the stomach in a grocery store it has already been bleached and scalded making it technically no longer raw, and cleaned of the raw nutritional base except protein and fat.

1. Again, that's just me. Authoritative sources say that dogs are not susceptible to mad cow (Creutzfeldt-Jakob) disease....... that it's mainly sheep and other ruminants.
2. Toxins: I feed liver. Dogs need those organ meats. JMO.
