I'm not sure what Tylan is, ask your vet. If it is an antibiotic I would put the dog on a probiotic once the treatment is done.
In regards to the blood, if it was bright red and clearly distinguishable then it is most likely intestinal upset from the food switch or stress. As stated earlier it is not as uncommon as you think. If the blood was persistent then a fecal check would be a good idea since it is a more efficent test then a swab. The time to worry about blood in the stool is when it is dark. This is usually a sign of intestinal damage.
The best advice is to skip meal, use a little pumpkin and go back to THK. Watch out for the fatty meats, organs and to much bone to begin with.
Tylan is an antibiotic that is used a lot in farm animals, but is also used as one of the treatments for dogs with diarrhea that are thought to be caused by a bacterial overgrowth or infection. It's a good thing. Don't be afraid to use it.
Michael - no, she wasn't acting strange at all, except for the liquid squirting out of her rear. Full of energy as usual.
I'll have to see if I can find some of that slippery elm bark.
Elaine - thanks for the info on Tylan
This morning BM was 99% solid, just the last few inch or so was a little soft, no water.
My guess is it was a combination of switching from THK/Raw to Kibble plus the stress of me being gone and being crated for a much longer time then she is used to during the day.

Exactly. It's of the Erythromycin family, and has an antimicrobial range a little wider than penicillin, but is also used as an intestinal anti-inflammatory.
I know you (Keith) will remember to finish the regimen once you have started it, because it works as an antibiotic regardless of any effects it might have on intestinal inflammation.
