yes, I just saw that I was reading the rest of the posts. I thought I had read them all before I posted, then noticed that there was already a 2nd pages worth of posts.
If that dog has a GOOD NOSE, even bleach has trace amounts of whatever it is that smells like URINE.
IMHO, it has to be triggers ... either scent or the cues of leaving.
Looking forward to hearing his results to the different suggestions.
How about putting her in the crate and them immediately taking her out again before she has a chance to pee. Maybe throw a treat in and call her out as soon as she has eaten it. Keep repeating this with gradually increasing time between the in and out. This way she will be learning that she can be in the crate without peeing.
Do you feed her in her crate? That would increase the positive association with the crate and lessen any stress which may also be causing her to pee.
Also, when you have to crate her for an extended period of time do it someplace where she doesn't usually pee until you complete the positive reinforcement with the crate in the house. She will be more likely to view the house crate as a good, happy place.
Yikes, this has been going on for 4 months? From the first day you brought her home?
Or did she start this some time after bringing her in under your wing?
