Hi- I'm not sure if this is the right section. I apologize if it isn't. I have a 3 1/2 year old dog-aggressive shepherd/pit mix. I recently purchase a dominant dog collar for him. The collar fits snugly up against his jaw. However, sometimes when he lunges or I lift straight up and give him a correction, he'll cough after.
Can you tell me if I have the collar applied incorrectly or if I'm not using the proper motion to correct him?
Nicole, my dog coughed a couple of times as well. Just make sure that when you release tension on the leash, that the DD collar releases fully as well.
