Does anyone have any experience with this product? (To all you horse people out there!) I saw this at the feed store and am considering supplementing my dog's food with it. I like the amount of vitamins and glucosamine in the ingredients. Here is link: Red Flex
It is appealing for the price (seems that the price doubles when products are for dogs!)
and the fact it does not contain alfalfa. So many K-9 supplements contain alfalfa, which my dog is allergic to.
Are there any drawbacks in ingredients that would not be suitable for a dog?
I have used red cell on horses....I also currently use GlycoFlex equine for my dogs...when something is a mixture formulated for a species as different in size as equine vs canine, I would be wary of overloading some ingredient or other...in teh case of glyco-flex equine, it is simply greenlipped mussels for natural glycosimine...I would worry about the iron content if this is red cell plus additives...

Thanks Lee! I cannot find a website that lists the ingredients and label information, will have to photocopy the label and research from there. And yes, it is red cell w/ glucosamine added. If I could only find a supplement w/o alfalfa and brewers yeast!
Then it is going to be heavy duty in iron...I would not use it. I had an anemic horse years ago that the vet put on Red Cell. Look at the vetri-science glyco-flex eq...oops it does have alfalfa in it...in any case I would not use something with alot of supplements in one item as it is formulated for a different species
