I normally get up and feed my pup at 445am before i head to work. lately I guess he picked up on this and he begins to whine a bit around that time. I try not to let him out while whining but because I have to get ready for work, sometimes I let him out. but only after I hear him being quiet for a bit. he'll cry a bit until I come outside...kind of like a wake up call saying "hey Im hungry, when are you coming out?". Im also wondering if hes crying to let him out or if he went too long over night without food? it shouldnt be that bad, fed at 700pm then he eats again at 445am....???

he's actually kept outside. his kennel is right next to my parents room, which is right next to my parents room. thats the main reason why I dont want him making noise that early...lol
I go straight out to take care of the kennel area, but I do make him wait a bit before I let him out. this doesnt affect the notion that he may "think he is top dog because I took care of him before myself".
I jus want him to make a fuss at that early hour...

Have you thought about crate training him?
I would definitely recommend that. Dogs that are crate trained are great because they learn that their crate is their "haven" and that they can be in there and relax.
They are easier to housebreak and also the crate is useful in many situations like, people coming over, riding in the vehicle, in case the dog is injured and needs to have exercise kept to a minimum, and also, if you need a break, the dog can have something safe to chew and go in the crate.

he has an indoor crate for when I part time crate train him. Im away from home from 500am - 4pm working so leaving him in a crate that long is outs...hehe. he is used to his crate though, he'll go in with no probs...

When I wake up I take a shower, do my own things, and then I let the dogs out. Like Carol suggested. When I get up my dogs don't even lift their heads.
My puppies (i have a litter of 4) do start making noise but I don't let them out while they are crying. Soon they will be like the adults and learn to wait.
hes 15 weeks. infact, recently, we'd have him in the kennel outside at night...I'd go outside to get something and the minute he sees me he starts making a fuss again...Im pretty sure he wants to be by me but its late already.
I'll try to give him more time outside the kennel while Im home....
