Trying to accustom 14 week old bulldog with tug and puppy springpole. What is everyones experience with the teething process as i do not want to take steps backwards. Do you change the tug ie. softer material during this time? Check for blood on the tug? thank you in advance.

Stop all tug work when teething.
I always kept wet towels that were rolled and taped on the ends in the freezer when my pups were teething. I did not tug, like Mike states, with them during teething, but they seemed to like those over their other "toys" during the teething process.

Haha. I love your tagline Carol.
Quick question: Do you consider teething the time that the dog is losing its baby teeth and the adult teeth are breaking gums, or the entire time that the adult teeth are coming in, until they're fully out? Becuase I know the first usually happens by 5 months, but to grow fully out the teeth usually take another 3-4 months after that..
I use a ball a lot more during teething time to build drive through games like fetch. Like Mike said though, tug work during this time could be a problem later on. My pup is now 7 months and I am playing with a tug. All her teeth have come through as far as I can tell.
