There were a lot of changes made last night In my home. I got the puppys 8 weeks to 8 months. wow I am a big mess up with my older one but I will try to fix that. Come to find out jewel has a prey drive not good for therapy dog. Bear went to his new home last night he is doing great at this point. I love this DVD.

I don't remember anything in that video that says a dog w/high prey drive can't be a therapy dog. Maybe I need to re-watch my video. My pup seems to have a pretty high prey drive and food drive, both, but I try to channel the prey drive appropriately (re-direct him to toys). I still plan on training him for a therapy dog. I work with him all the time, and he's doing pretty well, I think, for a teething 15 week old pup. LOL! (Today he did extended (20-45 second) down-stays for me at the vet clinic, while waiting for his rabies vacc). I was very happy with him! I figure, if I put all this work into training him to be a therapy dog, and it turns out he doesn't have the temperament for it, the worst thing that could happen is I have a well-trained pet. I'd encourage you to still try it, Stephanie, and see how it goes. What have you got to lose?
P.S. I'm with Connie - I also highly recommend the "Basic Obedience" DVD. I have the one you got, and the Basic Obed one. I got a lot out of the Puppy DVD, but I got way more out of the Basic Obedience DVD, as far as training. JMO.
