My husband and I have been having a silly argument for months now.
When he feeds raw chicken to Roxy, he uses a cleaver and cuts it into bite size pieces. I, on the other hand, just give her the whole piece (ie. chicken back, turkey neck etc...).
My thought is that she's able to chew through the bone, so it's a waste of time to cut it up. Now, I did cut up the large pieces when she was a small pup, because it just took her so long to eat an intact piece. Now that she's 10.5 months old and over 70lbs, I really don't think that the chicken needs to be cut up.
What does everyone else do?

I personally don't cut the meat and bones into small pieces for my 4 year old GSD. She's able to chew them up no problem.
Sometimes when I get a whole chicken I'll cut it into quarters with the cleaver and she'll get a quarter a day. But there is no need to cut any smaller than that IMO.
You should see my husband. He cuts the chicken into pieces small enough for my cat to eat!
Quite frankly, I'm just getting tired of sharpening my cleaver! My husband uses it and I get to sharpen it--go figure. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

For me, it's the joy of using the Meat Cleaver....it's sooooooo sharp, it swings soooooo well...the "smack" as it hits the board is soooo satisfying.....
