Are turkey legs (bone and all)/wings/ frames, etc OK?
I've seen all kinds of chicken bones talked about, but nothing talking about turkeys other than turkey hamburger.
I'm thinking of buying turkeys, cut off the legs and wings for the dog, cook the rest for thanksgiving dinner once a month or so. Obviously I'd take some meat off the bones just so it isn't too much for one meal...
I can't imagine it would present a problem other than making the dog chew on it longer because the bones are bigger...
Every Thanksgiving, we remove the breast from the turkey, cook it for ourselves, then divide up the rest and give it to the dogs. The bones are a little thicker and denser, but that just means the dogs have to do a little more work. Our dogs love them. We usually give the older dogs the thighs, younger dogs the wings and/or back.
