Hehe, yes I tend to use an axe or machete - or my older brother who is as big as a viking! I tend to let them sit for a bit, so they stay frozen but are not solid as stone.
I used a chainsaw on some once. It was fun but it wasn't pretty. Once you get the body cavity of the bird open it is pretty easy to cut them up if you have a heavy enough, sharp enough blade. I just cut them apart at the joints for the most part, I leave them in 3-day portions or so, and after thawing cut them a little nicer heh.
Thanks you all for the tips on holiday Turkey and we have already decided to buy a new freezer, now if I can get my husband to axe it up we may save some $$. The scrapes idea is good, will ask next trip to grocery store(yes, that's were we buy- don't know any other places yet.)Florida -no venison. Now,the dogs had a little loose stools-maybe too much food or oil! I'm not on track with this yet! Any input is greatly appreciated! Annette

Loose stools when you switch is probably too much organ meat, too much meat and not enough bone, or too much food, period.
If by oil you mean the salmon oil, no, that amount of oil is (I think, anyway) extremely unlikely to cause any kind of bowel upset.
