Kodee is 20 weeks old, and his left ear has been up for several weeks (since about 10 weeks old, I believe), but his right ear is still down. I read Ed's eBook "Taping a German Shepherd's Ears". Kodee's ears aren't huge (to me,at least), but they aren't small, either. Should I be taping his ear at this age? I know Ed's eBook stated they usually go up between 8 wks and 6 mos. However, in the section where he responds to e-mails, there was one woman whose 10-1/2 wk old pup had very large ears, and he advised her to listen to her vet, who recommended taping (even though he was not even 11 wks old, from what I understood in the e-mail).
Kodee still has some teeth coming in, however, so I'm not sure if that means I shouldn't worry about it or not. His right ear has not gone up and down at all, or even up slightly, or I wouldn't be so worried. It just hasn't changed at all, while his other ear's been up for a couple of months, at least. I'm posting a pic so you can see him better (I can't chg my sig picture yet). What do you think? (Also I'm wondering: does he have huge ears? To me they look just right, but I'm no expert). Should I tape, or wait a while longer?
Try more RMBs, eggshells, etc. Calcium, I swear, is the key to ears. Xander's litter's ears were never ever down, even during teething. I fed those guys a gruel I made from a mix of muscle meat, gizzards, hearts, liver, eggs w/shells, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, THK Embark, etc. a few times a week, and others let them go nuts on deer. Lots of bones. There were 2 pups left behind, fed half raw/half kibble, and their ears were floppy, and all mine were up straight all the time. I don't think this is a coincidence. I would try this in addition or instead of taping.
