Sieger Webboard User Reg: 01-30-2002 Posts: 1 Loc: Offline	Hello everyone Apart from sending my dog for an x-ray, is there any other ways to tell if my dog has hip dysplasia? He is walking find and I don't see him having trouble but he tends to stretch alot and I hope that is not a sign. Thanks in advance

Just do a search on dysplasia on the net and you will find a ton of info. I was convinced my dog had it and the 300 dollars I spend on x-rays was the best money I spend. Ed has a great article on how to read x-rays.BTW a great trick to teach a dog is when it streches Tell the dog to "take a bow" reward with treats. Milt

It saved her from having to go under, and the films (2 hips films) were only $70. The drawback is that if the vet won't let you help position the dog they are likely to squirm for the films, producing less than ideal films.
