Hi There,
My name is Melissa and I am the proud owner of three dogs who strike fear into the hearts of the wicked and good people alike with their ability to drown people in a sea of slobbery wet dog kisses and strike people blind with cute looks. We are located western washington state on an island which has yet to be disclosed by "the others."
I currently have two papillons Booker and Misty. Booker was the first papillon I purchased and one of the best decisions I have ever made. He was amazing to train and I consider him to be one of the best pieces of work I've done with dogs.
Misty is my female papillon and what one would consider to be soft to the point of squishy temperment wise. I have learned over time that even a overly enthusiastic voice correction with her is too much so we work often times with hand signals and gentle guidance and she is coming along beautifully. We're just getting into the phase of her learning down on recall which is going swimmingly.
Willow my Lab is my work in progress and what I hope will be my first hunting dog. She is pig headed, super driven, super duper intelligent, and will be a challenge for me to work with. We're just beginning work on off lead training. She came to me at 6 months old as an assistance dog dropout (she was a little too birdy) but I thought she might work out as an addition to my family.
I'm glad I'll be able to chat with you all on my journeys in dog training.
This is Booker and I. I wish I had a better pic but when you're taking the pic yourself you do what you can.
This is Willow. Forgive the brown on her nose. She had just finished sacrificing a Kong to her hide hole in my back yard.
Welcome Melissa:
Your dogs are darling. I love dogs in general, but your lab looks like a real go getter, they are all great! I can tell you love and care for them. Your labs condition looks wonderful!
God bless you

Melissa, great pics! Love the sentiment in your writing! Sounds like you are a dedicated owner willing to do whatever it takes to adjust your training to suit your different "pooch personalities" and get the job done. Kudos to you!
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!! Look forward to getting to know you and your crew better!
Welcome Melissa! I'm a fan of the crooked "do it yourself" photo too - in this case, I'd say you did BRILLIANTLY to manage each of your heads in the frame without lobbing off any important features!
