This is frustrating. My dog LOVES retrieving, loves bringing things back, is VERY happy, naturally with this behavior. He knows 'take,' 'bring,' and 'out.'
But.. he fiddles with/juggles whatever the object is in his mouth, regardless of what it is.. ball, canvas retrieving dummy, Sometimes, he of course ends up dropping the object.
Is there a method that I can do with my dog, using the items currently at home, to create a calm, firm hold-- with no juggling?

What are you doing with this dog, or is he just a pet? And what breed?
We had to teach a couple of our Labs to "hold" the retrieving dummy. I will have to ask Doug how he did it. I know it was positive training, but none of my dogs have this issue....they do not want to let go.
