i did read it, there is no reason to get upset. I don't work with these dogs, that is why i asked someone to help me understand this. at the rate you are going, no one should learn anything, and all the current trainers and handlers will die out because no one who doesn't already know shouldn't ask questions.
if i have no clue, then explain it to me instead of acting like a jerk.
I can explain it quite easily. The dog died doing exactly what he was trained to do. It's unfortunate, but it's also a distinct possibility each time we get the dog out of the car. No one said this job was easy or safe. There is never a guarentee that the handler of the dog comes home when the shift is over. The officer used the tools he had, the way he was trained. Hopefully, he'll get back up on that horse. He'll get another dog and not hesitate to use it the next time a situation comes up. This business isn't for those that have furbabies.
May the dog rest in peace. May the handler find peace.

I'll toast to that Carole! Thank you, you always have the right way to turn things for the better...I think Bloodhound handlers have that warm way about them...
yes, because their dogs lick the perps to death!
Bloodhound bites are like Komodo dragon bites, not good due to all the slobber.....
