For dry foot pads I use a hoof cream / hand moisturizer for horses. I found it to be less slippery and way more absorbant than other products. I found it did wonders for my older husky mix years ago who had crusty old dry dog feet and I've stuck with it ever since both for my hands and feet and theirs. It was really funny when I got out the bottle the dog would be laying on the floor all 4 feet up in the air waiting for me to put it on and rub it in.
