Different clubs do different things. First decide what your interests are and then look for clubs that are involved in that. Some clubs are mainly involved in the showing of dogs and since you have a mixed breed you probably wouldnt want to join them. Clubs that are mainly involved in training usually welcome mixed breeds and all of the clubs I have ever belonged to had a mix of very experienced people to brand new dog owners.
Paul, you can go on the web and search for.. mixed breed dog club of america. I did that and they offer everything you would find for purebreds. It looks like it would be very fun.
