well, i am certainly no expert, but you might want to consider pano as a possibility. if you have him pre-lim xrayed and everything looks clear, then there is a good chance that it is pano. be sure to talk to your vet about it.

Hi, my 3 year old GSD has had periodic bouts with Pano since he was 5 months old. His x-Rays did show a small lesion on his left ulna and this has been the site that aches during each bout. He was prelimed and has no signs of displasia. I understand that Pano is usually a problem only during the dog's skeletal development. My Ingo, however, has had pain in this area when he was 2 1/2.
