I have been reading through this thread again, and some question the need to test for DNA
As i think Kristen has already said, you can know if the Dog you have purchased is from that Sire and Dam
In December when we took Fred to Germany to have his Hips and Joints X-Rayed,
We also had his Blood taken and sent away for DNA testing
Now i am in no doubt at all that 'Fred' is Bred as stated as his breeder is a very genuine person, and i did not have him DNA for that reason
But whist he was having his Joints checked it seemed silly not to have him DNA'd. The reason Being is should he ever turn out to be a Champion ScHh Dog and win a lot of top titles then if we were to use him as a Stud Dog it is only right then he is DNAd'
It happens in all species as we all know and indeed Birds as well
If some pigeon fancier pays $100.000 for a pigeon he will want it DNA'd which is only common sense just as a person does when they use a Race Horse Stallion for there Mare they want a DNA done
Anyone who sells should have no problem providing a DNA test But of course the person wanting it must pay for it
If they refuse then walk away
