Howdy All! I am a new member to this forum and wanted to give a brief bio.
I own two Working Bouvier des Flandres, a male and a female. Both are trained for PP work and my female is in training for sheep herding, something that I do with my Border Collies. I am a former Schutzhund-DVG Trial Helper and Qualified Training Director. Currently, I train with the DELMARVA WORKING DOG GROUP out of Harrington, Delaware. Together with my friend and co-founder Andy Larrimore, we train for practical to tactical applications and not the dog sports of Schutzhund or French Ring. You can see some of our FUN at my farm web site, http://www.gainesfarmandkennels.com.
I am always looking for new or innovative methods for solving the age old K-9 problems many of us face. I am a firm believer in keeping the "working" thing the working thing. I feel that when conformation is mixed with work, you have a good looking mess! Feel free to e-mail me on topics of K-9 interest, herding, or Delaware dog training.
I look forward to "meeting" you throughout this venure.
Welcome Howard. Now I'm going to get all confused. For years I felt like the last DoDo bird around here regarding my name. I don't know how to act now.
Your website is very cool, great pictures, beautiful farm, and interesting info about yourself and your work. Very good to have you here. I was especially interested in your protection dog training pictures, as my dog is being trained in personal protection. I look forward to lots of input and info from you
Yeah, what they all said! My brother has a bouv and he is one of my favorite "nephews"! BTW do you sell your sheeps's wool anywhere.....like online??? (I'm a felting artist and always drool over sheep!)
