Star is 10 months old, and started her first season Friday. She's been bleeding for 4 days, now. She has her morning walks as usual, which she'll go nuts if she doesn't have them, but in the afternoons and evenings doesn't seem to want to do much of anything. After she eats her dinner at 5:30 she pretty much just sacks out for the night, getting up a couple of times to go outside and relieve herself, then comes back in and goes back to sleep on the living room floor. She gets up and goes to her crate around 1:00 or 2:00 when we go to bed and she sleeps until 9:30 the next morning. (It's very nice and peaceful to have a sleeping dog at our feet all evening long - we're going to miss that after the season is over :-)
I know it's normal for dogs to have less energy when in season, but since she is losing blood, are there extra nutrients she is needing during this time? Right now she gets Vit. C, salmon oil, Vit. E, and glucosamine. She's eating and drinking as normal.
