My 11mo gs Bitch can't catch, she will carry around toys for short periods of time but just can't catch. I tried with treats that are her favourite and are big enough to see but with no success
Can anyone give any tips? She is very thing i wanted, a good obedience dog, becoming a great agility dog & a good guard dog. I know it sounds funny but i would like her to play catch with me so we can have a bit of fun too, she can be so serious that a little gameing would be good for her, the only other way to get her in play mode is to cough or burp!!! Not your normal dog
I have a GSD who had the some problem. He would not catch the ball if his life depended on it. I would throw the ball and he would just let it hit him in the face. The way I found was most succussful was to take him around a dog who can catch a ball and let your dog watch. It sounds funny but my dog is now jumping up and catching the ball in his mouth about every time now. It takes time and patients but just let him watch the other dog catch and try it slowly will him and dont expect him to catch it the first day or any thing. Just try it. It worked for my dog.
