Twice now I've seen/heard Molly (APBT) growl at my old man Pom when he wandered near where she was sleeping. We've verbally corrected her and put her in her crate - did we do the right thing? Should we do something differently? There have previously been no other problems, but molly is getting older and perhaps thinking of challenging Jacks (the old man pom) place? If there is already a thread like this I apologize I didn't see one but I might have missed it in my 'scan'. Thanks..

What is the back story? Have you had them both for a long time, or is one a newcomer?
I just don't allow dog-dog aggression. Yes, I'd probably have verbally corrected the first time, with a firm correction the second, but I don't use the crate as punishment.
I did see it. Molly was laying on the floor in her 'usual' spot, not sleeping and jack wandered near her and she let out a low growl. They've been together for almost a year now (as long as I've had molly) and in all other situations Jack runs her all over the place. She has had NO problems w/ other dogs up to this point, and what really gets me is she had just gotten back from a good long walk, she should have been far too tired to be snotty dontcha think?
So if it happens again, just a verbal correction? Should I leave a lead on her for a quick physical correction? Thank you for your time...

I would, yes.
Who knows why? But for me, a real (aggressive, warning) growl is just not allowed. Period. It has to be like that, or I would have to separate my dogs.
I'd also pay renewed attention to not leaving toys and treats out and not feeding them alone together.
When you leave the house, they are crated/separated?
my dogs are never fed together and toys and such are not left laying around and when we are not home molly is always in her crate. Thanks for your time and thoughts...
