So the newspaper here did a big spread on Wisconsin's real lack of regulations when it comes to dog breeding. You can read the article here: http://www.madison.com/wsj/topstories/271798
I'm kind of curious to know if Ed knows anything about this "Wallace Havens" fellow and his puppy mill. Oops, I mean, "dog kennels."
Theey actualy had the place on the tv when tey were doing a piece on designer dogs. Very clean but huge. I was amazed that no mention was made about the mass production set up and the mental health of his puppies.
He gets a lot for his dogs. Stated he sells to celebrities.

One of the best ways to put puppy mills out of business, IMO, is to educate the public about how they are supporting them. Buying a dog from a pet store, or from someone who sends an email or puts an ad on a buy-and-sell site with a sad story about having to give up their puppies, etc. -- this is what keeps puppy mills in business.
As abhorrent as people like that guy (who "enjoys making puppies that are real pretty") are, though, this part of the board is a training board, and not so much a political-discussion venue.
I really didn't know where else to put it. I thought people might find it interesting. There's so many different forums on the site (a little organization could go a long way!), that I thought this would be the place to post it. You can delete it or move it if you want to.

See up at the top of the web page, where it says "forum list"? (Red letters on gray.)
If you click that, you'll find all the various forums, from General Discussion to Veterinary Medicine, and everything in between. Pretty organized, too, with headings and sub-headings.
