so i misunderstood ed's article then i suppose.. it seemed that if you didi the whole crate training thing the dog would get the whole jist of things and be trained rather quickly.... although my puppy has not had accidents in the house in the last couple of days and she is only 9 weeks old, i believe this is because i take her out at the right times, and crate her enough...i still have to take her out twice during the sleeping hours but i'm sure this will go away in a few weeks...and she usually drips on her way from the crate to the door in the morn but i'm sure this will go away shortly also.....i just thought this process was much shorter
i was so proud of her in the car the other day.... we were out and i had her in the seat with me when she starts whining and wanting to get up and all, i just thought she got bored and restless... i put her down and she peed on the floor, i know she had an accident but if i would have understood her communication then it would not have been an accident....i will definately know next time.....it makes me proud of her that she tried though
Sounds like your pup at 9 weeks is doing very well. My whole point is don't get discouraged if there are a few accidents once in a while. It can happen. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I was wondering if anyone could help me out?, We have a shetland Sheepdog Sheltie and i was wondering if anyone else out there ever had one and how did you go about house training the dog. I'm trying Ed's way of house training but wondered if anyone had any other suggestions, he don't seem to be doing very good yet we still have a couple of accidents in the house per day very rarely do we go a day without an accident and we take him out every hour or sooner. He is almost 10 weeks old. thanks
